Gaining popularity with each year, there is an ever-increasing number of events held during October. Each with a different emphasis and price, there should be something to appeal to all, whatever the age and budget! Ideal activities for your cottage getaways Wales!

Gower Halloween at the Gower Fresh Christmas Trees.
A 40-minute car journey down to the Gower Peninsular at Poundffald Farm there is an opportunity to step into the world of Halloween from Oct 22nd through to Nov 6th.
Tickets have to be pre-booked for this “Ghostbuster Party in the Halloween Barn”, an hour-long event. This includes The Salem Sisters, meet Marv the monster and try your hand at pumpkin carving. There is also a fun fair, a rollercoaster ride, face painting and glowsticks! If a fun hour of ghosts, music, and horrendous dancing appeals, then tickets should be bought – early booking is advised, a very popular event.

Additionally with no requirement for tickets is the opportunity to pick pumpkins out in the fields every day from the 7th of Oct.

Monsters of the Mine Zip World Tower Oct 20th – 31st
Over at Zip World Tower, in addition to the usual thrills of the daytime rides and zip wire – a horrifying underworld has been disturbed, unleashing the terrifying Monster of the Mine!
As dusk descends over the Rhigos mountain range, there are reports of spooky sounds, prowling footsteps and odd sightings!
The underground tunnels are becoming overcrowded with the Monsters of the Mine, making their way to the surface to wreak havoc by night. Will you dare venture up to Tower Colliery to investigate?

Jungle Jitters at Plantasia
From the 23rd – 31st of October.
For a simple family adventure, fly down to Plantasia Tropical Zoo in Swansea”s Parc Tawe this Halloween. Try the grizzly trails all about our animals and succumb to a few Jungle Jitters. A charge of an extra pound is added to the usual admission price. Book spaces early!
On the 31st of October, there is a Plantasia After Dark event – Spells, Smells and Terryfying Trails. The Creepy Crawlies cannot wait to eat you!

The Swansea Bay Rider
The Halloween Ghost Train will be making it’s spooky way down Swansea Prom on Monday 30th and Tuesday 30th of October. Ghosts, goblins and witches will ride the return train ride along Swansea Prom from Southend gardens to Blackpill Lido.

Gwili Railway – Lights of the Valley
From Oct 29th through to the 5th of Nov, the gwili Steam Railway will be running a special train at 4 and 6 pm. Relive the era of steam with a twist – see the train wind it’s way along the valley, creating a colourful light journey. Full bar service will operate on the train throughout the journey.

Pen y fodau Farm shop Fforestfach.
For a simple take on Halloween, visit the Pen y fodau Farm Shop near Gorseinon. Take the children out to the Pumpkin Field to choose your pumpkins or if wet weather prevails then head to the nearby Barn, littered with pumpkins to select. No booking required.

Cantref Farm, Brecon.
A free pumpkin for every child visiting Cantref on Oct 22, 23rd plus Oct 1/2 term.
